PREVI GROUP focuses its
activity on several lines of work:
Virtual reality
The objective of this line of work focuses on the development,
testing, clinical validation, and marketing of several Virtual
Reality (VR) applications to assess and treat different
psychological disorders.
Our company is able to offer a technologically advanced
product that has been proven to be clinically effective
in the assessment and treatment of certain psychological
disorders.
PREVI is composed of professors from the University of Jaume
I, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and the University
of Valencia and has among its staff lecturers and professors
from the mentioned universities, and other professionals
devoted to the development of computer solutions that are
useful in the health arena.
PREVI collaborates in several research projects supported
by public and private funds.
Psychology treatment center
We are a team of qualified professionals and researchers
(psychologists, psychiatrists, endocrinologists, nurses,
and social workers) devoted to the development and promotion
of health.
Our team is expert in the psychological assessment and psychological
treatment from a cognitive-behavioural perspective, which
underlines how people interpret reality and how they give
meaning to the events that surround them.
The assessment and treatment protocols used at PREVI are
supported by rigorous scientific research. We apply treatments
that have been tested and have proven to be clinically affective.
PREVI GROUP offers empirically validated treatments for
different psychological disorders.
Furthermore, we use advanced technology to create virtual
environments for the treatment of particular disorders.
These virtual environments have been clinically validated
and tested in controlled studies to prove their effectiveness.
On line treatment
Telepsychology is an area included in a broader
field which is Telehealth. Telehealth refers to " distant
health promotion" using electronic communications networks
and computers. Disciplines such as Telemedicine, Telepsychiatry,
and Telepsychology have emerged as a part of Telehealth.
Telepsychology has been defined as "the use of telecommunication
technologies to put the patient in contact with the health
professionals with the purpose of offering an effective
diagnostic, education, treatment, consultation sessions,
transmission and estorage of the patients medical data,
research and other activities related with the provision
of health care" (Brown, 1998).
The goal is to offer adequate attention in remote areas
in which staff and/or special devices does not exist.
Treatment programs that are applied on line. PREVI
has designed a Virtual Reality treatment program that allows
for the "virtual exposure" to several feared situations
related to public speaking. These are computer-simulated
environments the person can navigate confronting his/her
fears more confidently, without leaving the therapist office,
which ensures safety, control, and confidentiality.
